Answering the Call - Jeremiah 1 (1-10)

This is what the Lord said to Jeremiah in Jeremiah1:10 "See, I have set you this day over nations and over kingdoms, to pluck up and to break down, to destroy and to overthrow, to build and to plant.” Jeremiah didn't think he was qualified to be God's spokesperson but yet God knew his heart and the love that he had for his people. God is calling us to have a similar love for our brothers, sisters , our nation and to remain consistent in the days to come. The only way we can do that is if we have closeness and intimacy with him. James 4:8 says "Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded." Father we pray for forgiveness for all our inconsistencies, blowing hot and cold and our lukewarmness. We want to commit to you and your purposes. We choose to draw closer to you in prayer. Father your heart is for the nations. We pray that we will align ourselves with your commissioning mandate to "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations" Matt 28:19.Like Jesus we humbly ask give us the nations and the extremities of the world as an inheritance"
