Genesis 6:5-9 -Building together as a Family

The Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intention of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And the Lord regretted that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him to his heart. So the Lord said, “I will blot out man whom I have created from the face of the land, man and animals and creeping things and birds of the heavens, for I am sorry that I have made them.” But Noah found favor in the eyes of the Lord....Noah was a righteous man, blameless in his generation. Noah walked with God.”

We are Thankful God ends the story with rescuing humanity and a beautiful rainbow as a sign of the covenant he made with all of humanity. God made a covenant with Noah, and He made a covenant with us through Christ. He will never break His promises. They will stand the test of time because His promises are never based on our character; they’re based on His.

Amongst all the wickedness, God found in Noah a family that would serve him. He saw a family shaped by godly standards and not by society and as a result spared him and his family from the flood. Noah's victory was our victory. Noah understood what hard times were. He knew what it was to feel alone. He understood rejection and ridicule. And yet in it all, he kept going strong, he remained faithful on the path of obedience and following all that God had called him to do. And the biggest encounter of this whole amazing story, is the one that thankfully leads us to the hope found in Jesus.

Today. we live in a time of moral decay with many social, political, and spiritual issues. We need God in our homes, just as Noah's family, so we can receive His instructions on how to build and find protection inside the ark. A family that belongs to God does not stay in the storm, but finds its shelter inside the ark.

Noah had to build the ark. If the ark had not been built, surely the family would have had no shelter to be saved from the flood. To rescue our home and family, we must act as God dictates and be obedient. May God always be the center of our homes and may our families be more than conquerors through the name of Jesus. The time has come for us to enter the ark with our whole family and raise altars to God inside our homes!

The Bible says that God shut the door of the ark. He shut Noah and his family inside, providing safety and offering hope amidst those dark days. Jesus also was shut inside a tomb after his death. But when the stone was rolled away by God, Christ arose from the grave that could never have kept him enclosed. His power is too great to be buried; God’s great power was demonstrated over Noah and his family. And that same power that provided safety to God’s people, that conquered sin and death, and that raised Christ from the grave is still active today.

If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you,

Noah was not a perfect man, but the Lord saw his heart and righteousness and provided a way for him to be saved. God brought he who is perfect to us through His own Son Jesus Christ, the very door that leads to our rescue.

Jesus said, “I am the door. If anyone enters by me, he will be saved,” John 10:9. We continue to pray for unsaved families and people we know. We pray for the prodigals to come home. Pray God will reveal ways we can reach out and plant godly seeds in their hearts. We pray for Transformation in our families,May we have kingdom mindsets as part of everyday life not just Sundays

Just as Noah was building against all odds help us to master builders and overcomers
