The Throne of God

We are continuing on this journey of prayer and fasting seeking God’s purposes and plans for this season for us personally, as a movement (WOM UK) and also for the nations. In His word God says that to everything there is a season (a time appointed) and a time to every activity, event or purpose under heaven. Ecclesiastes 3:1 God has also made everything beautiful and appropriate in his time and has also planted eternity (a sense of divine purpose) in the human heart ( a mysterious longing which nothing under the sun can satisfy except God) Ecclesiastes 3:11

In Isaiah chapter 6, we see the prophet in a vision. He saw God sitting on a throne, high and exalted and the train of His royal robe filling the most holy part of the temple and above Him stood the seraphims, heavenly angels whose ministry is closely related to the throne and the praises of God. The seraphims cried out to one another saying,

Holy ,Holy ,Holy is the Lord of Hosts:The whole earth is full of his glory”. The foundations of the thresholds trembled at the voice of him that cried and the house was filled with smoke. What a glorious vision and experience!

A praise to God revealing His innermost nature. The Hebrew word for “Holy” Kadosh ,means set apart, separated, unapproachable .“Holy,Holy,Holy “ Thrice Holy like the trinity ,give us a sense that the main characteristic of God is His Holiness. However in his love for us ,He gave us a mediator in Jesus his son ,who by his blood made a way to give us access to His throne of Grace. How awesome is this truth to us to have access to this place of Glory. Glory is that aspect of God’s character that emphasises His greatness , authority and supremacy.

In that place of Glory ,the prophet felt uncleaned and said:

Woe is me ! for I am undone ,because I am a man of unclean lips, and I live among a people of unclean lips ;for my eyes have seen the King, the Lord of Hosts “

It is obvious that it was not his lips that was producing the sins and the uncleanness but his heart.“Out of the abundance of the heart ,the mouth speaks” Matthew 12:34. It is in that place of Glory that we get undone and our flesh subjected. Then flew one of the seraphims unto the prophet ,having a burning coal in his hand which he had taken from the altar with tongs. He touched his mouth with it and said “listen carefully ,this has touched your lips; your wickedness (sin, injustice, your wrongdoing) is taken away and your sin atoned for and forgiven. Now the cleansed prophet was in a new position. Whilst before he could only see God but now he can hear God’s voice. His sins forgiven, his guilt and shame taken away, he could hear the voice of God saying:

“Whom shall I send, and who will go for Us”?To which he said:“Here am I. send me !”

He was convicted, cleansed and received the call to go and start his prophetic ministry. As we apply this encounter of the prophet in the throne of God filled with His glorious presence and incense, we too are being called as we hunger and thirst for the intimacy of His presence in the throne room. We will be undone and our flesh subjected and will be carriers of His Glory to fulfil the calling He has placed on each of our lives in Christ Jesus.

It is written,” Be Holy for I am Holy” 1 Peter 1:16

The prophet was called to minister to the nation of Israel. He heard the Lord and was commissioned. Every man and women of God are called and we have the great commission to “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations,(help them to learn of me, believe in me and obey my words) baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you ;and lo ,I am with you always (remaining with you perpetually, regardless of circumstances, and on every occasion) even to the end of the age.

“Whom shall I send and who will go for us” saith The Lord. What will be my answer and what will be your answer?
