Mighty Warriors

2 Tim 2:4 “ No soldier when in service gets entangled in the enterprises of life; his aim is to satisfy and please the one who enlisted him”. I believe 2021 is the season of standing in the gap, standing on the wall. The land is in danger and I’m not talking about Covid. The sword is coming on the land, on the nations. Only prayer can keep us, can keep the elect on right track and only prayer can turn away God’s wrath. I believe God is still searching for men and women who will build up a wall, who will stand before him in the gap Eze 22:30 so that he wouldn’t destroy the land. What’s happening in the USA should be warning a wake up call to the Church.Thinking about Gideon in the book of Judges. The first thing that God asks him to do is to, "Pull down your father’s altar to Baal, and cut down the Asherah pole standing beside it. Then build me a new one an altar to the LORD your God here on this hilltop sanctuary. (Judges 6:25-26). This was his first test. Pulling down your Father’s altar, the family’s, community’s altar, the sacred cow. God was asking him to get his own house in order first. Remove the accursed thing from your midst, unholy fire from my altar. Remove the unbelief, traditions, attitudes, mind sets, ambition, things that we are attached to like money, pride, independent spirit, false ideologies. God will not allow Himself to be worshiped alongside idols. When God told Jacob to go to Bethel and build an altar there to Him, Jacob told everyone in his household, “Put away the foreign gods that are among you . . .” (Genesis 35:2). God is holy; As we move into 2021 what are you prepared to put on the altar? If we want to accept God's mandate then we need to abide by his terms. In doing so, Gideon who had been in the shadows for years full of doubt and fear was transformed into a man of valour and of courage.
